Your Guide to a Perfect Location

This is the time to think outside the box! I encourage you to brainstorm unique locations that you might have special access to that most people don’t. For example, maybe you, or someone in your personal or professional network can secure permission to a location that would otherwise be off-limits.  Like a beautiful private estate, country club or resort. Maybe it’s a family ranch, upscale hotel or even a boat, airplane hangar or a rooftop view. The sky is literally the limit! Spend a few minutes thinking about it and checking around. You’ll be surprised with what you come up with. Plus, if something seems out of reach, just remember: you never know until you ask!

My clients have secured permission to some pretty amazing places in the past. If you get stuck or need inspiration, here are some of my favorite spots around town.  And always remember, at the end of the day, it’s the people in the pictures that matter most.  Trust me, you’re in good hands.

Lehi Yard - My private 'country' location. This spot is a citrus orchard, with a small grass field, rustic corals, and a hidden grove perfect for any type of session.

Red Mountain - A perfect place if you are looking to show off the gorgeous AZ mountains and dessert foliage in the background.  The sunset colors dance beautifully on the mountain for golden hour shoots.

Papago Park - Desert landscape, large red rock mountains and miles of sky.  This is awesome for any type of shoot.  Just be sure to bring a pair of comfy shoes to walk a little in and your nice shoes in hand!

BH Bridge -  The Superstition mountain is in the distance as we shoot on a pretty neat bridge. Also offers a desert landscape full of gorgeous cactus and plants.

Phon D Sutton - Lush vegetation surrounding the Salt River.  Shallow water sweeps over smooth rock.  This location can be pretty busy with people  but I am always able to make it work and you will LOVE the outcome.  (Please add a $10 travel fee.)

Old Brick House - Located in downtown Mesa, this old historic brick house has a great wrap around porch and old weathered steps.

Mesa Art Center - Industrial and modern feel.  Concrete textured walls and steps.  Running water channel that flows from one end of the center to the other.

Phoenix Graffiti - Oh the places we can go!  Looking for lots of color and art?  Phoenix is a playground of art and is a great match for fun senior or engagements pictures.

Riparian Preserve - This Gilbert spot has a large lake full of ducks.  An industrial bridge sitting on the water is just the beginning of endless dessert trees, cactus and streams that head to the small lake.

Tempe Flour Mills - An old rustic flour mill with textured walls and metal doors.  I love this spot for morning sessions of any kind. Also, the gorgeous bridge with the water at Tempe Town Lake is just a short walk away.

Old Mesa Mills - Old grain mills offer a cool rustic vibe. There is a giant red metal wall and a large dirt field with railroad tracks running through it.

Elvis Presley Memorial Church – Western little town sitting in front of the Superstition mountains.  A huge giant wooden barn makes it well worth the drive. (Please add a $10 travel fee.)

Scorpion Gulch - Go back in time to a  roofless, adobe trading post that sits in the dessert. This is the eyes dream!  (This is a hot spot around the holidays.)

Brown Mountain - Bring some hiking shoes and lets o for a short hike up the mountain overlooking he valley, the Superstition mountains and unbelievable sunsets.  Must be willing to work for this one, but there is no questioning the view here. Great for engagements.
